Given the topic, it may not be a subject which can strike a chord with the masses. Overall, this is a film which is good in content and execution but in order to score a hit, the makers must come up with some aggressive marketing.

Bottomline: Sensible story with average appeal

Ayyare is a very thought provoking movie. It nicely captures the innocence with which people blindly follow many fake ‘Babas’ these days. The movie is entertaining and captivating in the second half. Tighter screenplay and better narration in the first half would have greatly helped matters. Overall, this is a movie that can be watched for Rajendra Prasad’s riveting performance. He is supported well by Shivaji and Sai Kumar.

While the first half of the film drags until Rajendra Prasad enters the scene, director Sagar Chandra has made the second half of the film quite interesting. Rajendra Prasad is brilliant in the role of the baba. His performance is definitely the highlight for the film. The scenes in which he interacts with the devotees is especially entertaining and funny. Sivaji as a carefree guy is good.
