  1. This is the first Indian film to be released in 4K High Definition format. Close to 200 screens were upgraded to 4K projectors before the release date of the film.

It was the first Indian movie to collect 1000 crore INR in the worldwide box office, doing so on its 10th day of release. It is also the highest-grossing film in India alone. This is the first time a non-Hindi film has held the record of the highest-grossing Indian film of all time. Within India, it set many films records, becoming the highest-grossing film in Hindi, as well as in its original Telugu and Tamil languages.
  5. Karan Johar canceled the grand premiere of the film in Mumbai on 27 April 2017 as a mark of respect to veteran actor Vinod Khanna who passed away on the same day.
  6. The climax of this movie alone cost more than INR 30 crore, almost twice as much as the first film's climax.
