Devadasu is a romantic movie which has debutantes Ram and Ileana in the lead roles. The movie is about Devadas (Ram), a poor student, who falls in love with a U. S. senator's daughter (Ileana). She reciprocates his feelings and asks her father's consent to marry him. However, her father is against this wedlock and forbids her to see him. Rest of the movie is about how Devadas reunites with his lover.
