2019 finally ended, it been a hell of a ride for Telugu cinema. High budget movies conceptual flics, pan India blockbuster and huge disappointments these are the talking points of 2019. After Baahubali Tollywood again went to Bollywood with two high budgets movies. Star Director Puri Jagannadh is back with a hit after 2015 Temper. Lady Superstar Samatha Akkineni gave blockbuster leading the film by herself. Vijay Devarakonda lost twice in 2019 as a hero and producer. Now we are analyzing the second half 2019 Tollywood movies. 


July - Puri Jagannadh strikes back:

July month was one of the vital months for Tollywood. Samantha, Vijay Devarakonda and Ram Pothineni showed up at box office with their films. Ismart Shankar was the winner of the month with 83 crores gross. It became a second innings movie for both Ram Porhineni and Puri Jagannadh. Samantha delivered a solo blockbuster with Nandini Reddy's Oh Baby. Recent talk of the town Vijay Devarkonda disappointed audience in Dear Comrade which was one of the anticipated movies of 2019. Sandeep Kishan delivered a hit after a long time with Ninu Veedani Needani Nenu. Vijay Devarkonda's brother debutant with Dorasani, which was a disappointment at the box office.




August - Saaho Mania:

Twelve movies released in August with one of the biggest action pictures in the country, Saaho was a trending point with 350 crores budgets for a single film. Though the movie released with mixed feelings from the audience, it bagged 430 crores whopping total at the box office. Thriller specialist Adivi Sesh delivered another mesmerizing thriller alongside with Regina Cassandra. Critics and audience well-received the movie. Bellamkonda Sreenivas received his first hit in the form of Rakshashudu(remake of Tamil psycho-thriller Ratsasan). Senior hero King Nagarjuna delivered a disaster with Rahul Ravindran's Manmadhudu 2.




September - Title Controversy:

Eight movies released in September week with Nani and Varun Tej's movies. Tamil remake Jigarthanda remade in Telugu by Harish Shankar as Valmiki. Some communities went on to the court to stop the from to release. Makers came up with another title Gaddalakonda Ganesh two days before the release. The movie gained hit talk at the box office, but this controversy got makers into a lot of trouble. After Jersey Nani teamed up with Vikram Kumar and presented Gang Leader movie which made decent money at the box office. Young hero Kartikeya portrayed as the antagonist in the film. Aadi-Shraddha Srinath's Jodi disappointed audience in theatres. 




October - Boss is back to box office:

Megastar Chiranjeevi's dream role in the periodic drama's finally happened in 2019 October with Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy. Directed by Surender Reddy and Produced by Ram Charan, Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy was 3rd all-time biggest grosser in Telugu stated but disappointed in pan India market. It collected 141 crores all over the world with only 70% recovery from its business. Apart from Sye Raa, 12 movies released in Telugu but no film made a significant noise at the box office. Gopichand's Chanakya, RDX Love, Operation Gold Fish and Raju Gari Gadhi 3 were a disappointment. 




November - Busiest week of the second half:

Total of sixteen movies released in November month with a lot of hopes from young filmmakers. Postpone Saga film Nikhil Siddarth's Arjun Suravaram finally release in November and proved postpones never bother a content movie. Vijay Devarakonda failed to produce a hit movie with director turned actor Tharun Bhascker's Meeku Mathrame Cheptha. Sandeep Kishan was unable to deliver another hit in 2019 with Tenali Ramakrishna. George Reddy and Raja Varu Rani Varu are some of the low budgets movie entertained audience.




December - Venky Mama and Prati Roju Pandage Mania:

Last month of the year was one of the memorable ones for the Tollywood industry. Two movies made a lot of noise at the box office by bringing the family audience to the theatres. Victory Venkatesh & Naga Chaitanya multistarrer Venky Mama entertained the audience with sentiment and laughed riot throughout the film. Sai Dharam Tej's Prati Roju Pandage also followed the same formula and ended up as biggest grossed in his career. Ram Gopal Varma's political controversy Amma Rajyamlo Kadapa Biddalu was a disaster at the box office.  Rajamouli's family members movie Mathu Vadalara released last week and making a decent run all over Telugu states.
