Mass Maharaj Raviteja stuck at some point and looking confused about whether to do concept movies or commercial movies. After facing a series of flops, Raviteja decided to change his track and came up with an exciting film Disco Raja under the direction of VI Anand. Nabha Natesh and Payal Rajput are the lead heroines in this movie, and Bobby Simha has seen in the role of an antagonist. SS Thaman composed music, and Karthik Ghattamaneni handled the camera.

Story:

Disco Raja(Ravi Teja), who was a gangster in Mumbai city, got killed by Burma Sethu( Bobby Simha). After 35 years, Raja relives through medical experiment without any remembrance of his past. Vasu( Ravi Teja) went away from his home to earn money and doesn't return after months. What's the connection between Vasu and Raja, and why Sethu killed Raja, also, what happened to Vasu? Know the answers watching this movie.

Review:

Director VI Anand is a superb writer cum director who deals with complicated subjects very easily. His level of writing skills had clearly seen with Ekkadiki Pothavu Chinnavada. But coming to Disco Raaja VI Anand didn't give much time to understand the logic of the plot and concentrated on other issues in the film. Even then, the 1st half of the film lagged too much by introducing several characters through inter cuts. The only positive thing in the 1st half is the interval episode, which builds some curiosity in the second half. Then the second half starts with the flashback episode of Disco Raja. It was well presented by the director VI Anand, but the screenplay was blatantly designed, which keeps on diluting the interest in the movie. The director gave a jolt to the audience in revealing the main Villain. It will be one of the major highlights of the movie, which came as a surprise.

Performances:

It was Mass Raja's show all the way. VI Anand used Raviteja's energy levels to the maximum. Raviteja did this role with his 100% commitment, but Anand should have put some more efforts in writing this character efficiently. Though the hero was superb in the film, he didn't get to do anything new. Vennela Kishore and Satya's comedy worked out. Sunil is trying to do something different, and he gave a hint with Disco Raja. Actress Nabha Natesh is there just to fill the screen space. There is no arc for her character, and Paayal Rajput is just okay.

Technical Departments:

2020 might also be going to be a Thaman' s year. He did his fullest to the movie through songs and re-recording. All the songs were beautifully composed by Thaman, but they were the huge let down in the film. Karthik Ghattamaneni has again shown his mark through his lenses. He brought an aesthetic look to the movie and justified the production values of the banner. Action sequences were very mediocre.

Overall, Disco Raja is a slight new breeze for Mass Maharaja and his fans, but they have to wait for one more movie to get fully satisfied.
