The success of a film partly depends on the music director the kind of music he gives to the movie. He is the first audience for every cinema and can enhance the scenes with his music. A music director is the first person to take the film to the people with his songs in the form of singles. If the released album gets a positive response, then half of the burden is released from the director to make it a hit. But, the career of the composer totally depends on the movie result. Chances keep coming to their doorsteps if the movie is a hit. Otherwise, it's hard even for the composers to sustain for a long period.

Let's see the journey of top5 music directors in the Telugu Film Industry in 2019.

Devi Sri Prasad

2019 had been an average year for Rockstar Devi Sri Prasad. Though most of the films he worked for were superhits, he received mixed responses for his songs. His first film in 2019 was Mega Powerstar Ramcharan's Vinaya Vidheya Rama. This film not only failed at box-office but also in music. VVR album is one of the poorest albums Devi had ever composed. Also, he received bad reviews for re-recording. So, Devi started 2019 disastrously. But the irony is he came back strong in just 24 hours. The very next day, Anil Ravipudi's F2 was released and became blockbuster. A couple of songs were good, and he did justice to the film in the background score. DSP composed music for Sai Dharam Tej's Chitralahari, which was released in April. Chitralahari was a hit giving a break to Sai Tej. Prema Vennela was an instant hit and a chartbuster. Later in mid-summer, Mahesh Babu's Maharshi got released. Devi secured so so marks for Maharshi too. The album was average, but the movie became a superhit and Devi got saved. After Maharshi DSP Didn't do any films and ended the year disappointing his fans. Probably 2019 was the worse year for Devi in his 20-year musical career.

S Thaman

Thaman continued his form even in 2019. He ended 2018 with Mr. Majnu. That film didn't do well at the box-office, but Thaman's work was highly praised. All the songs in the film were superhit. He started 2019 by giving background score to the blockbuster Majili movie. Being a specialist in giving BGM's Thaman did outstanding work for Majili. Ninu Veedani Needanu Nenu movie did averagely and voter movie was a flop. But that didn't show any effect on Thaman, and he did Venky Mama and Prathiroju Pandage. Both movies released in December and became superhits. Mainly Prathiroju Pandage was the biggest hit in the careers of Sai Dharam Tej and director Maruthi. Songs in Prathiroju Pandage received super positive response specially Oo Baava song went viral on Tik-Tok.

Manisharma

Musical legend Manisharma bounced back strong in 2019 with the superhit movie Ismart Shankar. He gave back to back hit songs in the album and became a strong pillar for the success of the film. Manisharma re-recording was an added asset to the movie because of his recording the movie went to a next level. No one can match his style of work in music and it once again proved with Ismart Shankar. After the success of this movie, Manisharma agreed to do one more film with Puri Jagannadh. Also, he grabbed the opportunity to work with Megastar Chiranjeevi in Koratala Siva's film. This blockbuster combo has again collaborated nearly after 14 years. Also, Manisharma doing a film RED with Ram Pothineni. So, 2019 was really a golden year for Manisharma and he's going to start his second innings with 2020.

Mickey J Meyer

Mickey J Meyer is one of the finest musicians in the industry right now. His music sounds very unique and pleasant than the others. Right from his career, Mickey is very choosy in films and it shows in his discography. in 2019, Mickey J Meyer did three films, out of which two were superhits, and one movie was a flop. The first movie that released was Samantha's Oh! Baby. Oh! Baby was a great film and received a great response to the music. Naalo Maimarapu is one of his finest compositions. Later, Harish Shankar's Gaddalakonda Ganesh was released. This movie was a total contrast to his previous film, but Mickey rocked the movie with his songs and BGM. The RR that comes with Waaka Waaka was excellent. In December, Raj Tarun's Iddari Lokam Okate was released, but the songs didn't get much hype and went unnoticed. Also, the movie was a flop and no-one was interested to give their ears to this album.

Anirudh Ravichander

Anirudh entered into Telugu industry with Power Star Pawan Kalyan's Agnyaathavasi. That film was the biggest disaster of the year, but Anirudh gave his 100% to the movie. Trivikram then replaced Anirudh with Thaman for Jr NTR's Aravindha Sametha. Everyone thought it was the end for Anirudh in Tollywood. But he collaborated with Natural Star Nani and did Jersey. This movie became super hit and Anirudh's music is the soul for this film. Jersey went on becoming one of the greatest movies ever made in Telugu. Later in the same year, he again did a movie with Nani called Gang-Leader. The album was superbly received by the audience but not the movie. Gang Leader became a flop resulting 2019 an average year for Anirudh.

We hope to listen a lot more songs from them in the coming years and we wish them the very best for their future.
