Character artist Nandu gained popularity with Sukumar's 100% Love. Later he did some notable roles like in Rabhasa, Pellichoopulu, Jaya Janaki Nayaka, Sammohanam, etc. But he wanted to do more and did few films as a lead actor. But none of them have given break to this prominent actor. This time he came up with Savaari movie, which was released yesterday. Let's look at the pros and cons of Savaari.

Plot

Savaari is about the story of Raju(Nandu) and his horse Baadsha. Raju loves his horse so much and works hard for money to get the horse operated as it's suffering from illness. As it is going smoothly Bhaagi(Priyanka) enters into Raju's life, and then Baadsha is missed. What has happened to Baadsha, and how the love story between Raju and Bhaagi ends is the plot of Savaari.

Performances

After watching this movie, one thing gets clear is that the directors did not use the 100% talent in Nandu. Giving him special roles in the movies, his talent got subsided. But with Savaari Nandu got a good break and proved as an actor. His Telangana accent, diction, and dialogue delivery are perfect, and Nandu did a commendable job in emoting scenes. Priyanka Sharma got a decent role and she did her job flawlessly. Another key role in the movie is played by horse Baadsha. Narrating the story through its point of view is very good. Rahul Ramakrishna's voice over for Baadsha is superb and glues the audience to the screens. The director of this movie Sahith Mothkuri received appreciations with his short film Bandam Regad along with the SIIMA award for the best short film. But in Savaari, he missed some key emotions and couldn't present them convincingly. He could have worked more on the script to get them right and Satisfactorily.

Technical Departments

Sekhar Chandra is one of the underrated music directors of this generation, and he has given a couple of beautiful tunes for Savaari. Nee Kanula and Undipova songs are too good. Cinematography by Monish Bhupathiraju is just okay. Production values by Narasimhaswamy banner are adequate and spent according to the script.

On the whole, Savaari is a big breakthrough for the actor Nandu, and it's definitely a one-time watch film.
