Bollywood, in many ways, taught South Indian film industries about film making and film marketing. They follow a systematic method regarding film making and film marketing. More importantly, in promoting their movies, Bollywood celebs go any further. Slowly, their techniques are introducing in Telugu industry and doing greater than Bollywood. Previously audio launches had been the main event for any movie team to promote it. Now, trailer launch events and pre-release events replaced them.




Also, the process of film promotions changed abruptly with an increase in internet usage. Now, the movie teams bring Teaser, Trailer, Lyrical videos, and Pre-Release events to inject their movie into the public. Trailer Launch events were not there in Telugu industry previously. Bollywood used to conduct an event for Trailer launch before they release it on Youtube. This fashion has just now started in Tollywood.


Another good thing Hindi industry used to do is announcing their movie release date before the shoot has begun. This helps them a lot to work as per plan and come on time. It also saves a lot of money for the producers as well. Even this culture has started in Telugu Film Industry.




Every Bollywood film completes more than half of its run in multiplexes throughout India. So, the life span of the film gradually reduced and came to 1 week. The buyers and distributors are aiming to get back their money as much as possible in a week. If the movie runs more than a week, it's a bonus. The same scenario is happening in Telugu states as well. Even Tollywood movies are running with 70% average occupancy in a week, that too for a super hit film. So, if two films release on the same day, the fight for 1st-weekend collections has begun.


Success tours are going aggressive in the Telugu industry in recent times for average to successful films. Though this trend has been there from the past, every movie team is doing this now to reach more people. This is a very positive sign because Telugu stars didn't take much care on promotions earlier. But things started changing now.


So, looking like Tollywood is following the footsteps of Bollywood for promoting the films.
