5 Remakes to look forward to in Tollywood 2020

It is not wrong to remake a hit film from a language into another language. Moreover, better possibilities are there for a story to reach a wider audience. In Telugu as well, many films were remade, some of them are successful, and some were not. But the hunger to remake films is not dying, and producers are willing to buy the rights of rich content films from the other language industries.

It is not wrong to remake a hit film from a language into another language. Moreover, better possibilities are there for a story to reach a wider audience. In Telugu as well, many films were remade, some of them are successful, and some were not. But the hunger to remake films is not dying, and producers are willing to buy the rights of rich content films from the other language industries. In the same way, Telugu movies also remade in other languages, thus becoming blockbusters. The latest example is Kabir Singh. This Arjun Reddy remake went on and crossed some of the highest grossers of the Hindi films. So, Telugu producers are eyeing on other languages to remake content-driven films. Suresh Productions is aiming to produce a series of remake films this year.


Here's the list of remake films Telugu audience is going to witness this year.


1. Asuran Remake

The announcement of Asuran remake in Telugu created a mild storm in T-Town. Because the lead role in the original is very raw and rustic and this role is going to be played by Victory Venkatesh. Venkatesh did not do this kind of role in his whole career. Also, Asuran remake is going to be directed by Srikanth Addala. It's not his genre of film he makes. Fans of Victory Venkatesh are very eager to watch him in a new mass avatar. Suresh Productions is flooring the remake of Asuran and slating to release in the second half of 2020.


2. UmaMaheshwara UgraRoopasya

After a philosophical movie C/o Kancharapalem, Venkatesh Maha is directing a movie named UmaMaheshwara UgraRoopasaya. This movie is a remake of Malayalam's superhit film Maheshinthe Prathikaram. One of the unique actors in our country Fahad Faasil played the lead role in the original, and Satyadev is reprising his role in this remake. Arka Media is bankrolling this project after the stupendous success of Baahubali series. 30-40% shooting of this film got completed and hoping to release in mid-summer.


3. Remake of Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety

Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety gave star status to the present happening hero of Bollywood, Karthik Aryan. In this comedy-drama film, Nushrat Bharucha played the female lead as Sweety and Karthik played the role of Sonu. Luv Ranjan was the director of this film. Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety was a super hit film in Hindi, and sources say that Suresh Productions bagged the rights to remake it in the Telugu language. Yet, there is no official announcement from the team about the star cast and director for this remake.


4. Remake of Dream Girl

Bollywood sensation Aayushmann Khurrana surprising his audience with every movie he came up with and scoring hits. After the mind-boggling success of Andhadhun, his next movie released was Dream Girl. Even this film received super positive reviews from the critics and the audience as well. Same Suresh Productions acquired the rights of this film to re-do in Tollywood. Raj Tarun is likely to act in the lead role, and other cast and crew details yet to be announced. Aayushmann Khurrana won the national award for the best actor category for the movie Andhadhun along with Vicky Koushal.


5. Kapatadhaari

This movie is an official remake of the Kannada super hit film Kaavaludhari. Kapatadhaari is a thriller film starring Sumanth Akkineni and Nandita Swetha as leads. Pooja Kumar and Vennela Kishore are playing crucial characters in the movie. Pradeep Krishnamoorthy is the director of this movie, and this film shooting is in progress. The release date has to be announced yet.
